Resolution
Image resolution is a a term used to describe the detail that an image holds. Resolution is an important matter when you want to watch a programme which is made up of loads of images. However the higher the resolution can mean the clip will take longer to buffer while the lower the resolution the quicker the clip will play.
Frame Rate
This is also known as frame frequency and describe how many frames are shown per second. For an average movie or clip they use 24 frames per second which shows enough detail for the audience to make out whats going on. However if you want a better quality clip then by using more frames per second you'll get more detail.
Compression
Image compression is to reduce irrelevance and redundancy of the image data in order for it to be able to store or transmit data in an efficient form.
